Market Sales Manager – western NC/eastern TN

Position Summary:   Sales Representative is primarily responsible for driving sales in their designated territory by managing retailer and wholesale distributor relationships.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represents company as the primary point of contact for our wholesaler partners and retail clients
  • Assists with the development and implementation of an annual business plan through the wholesaler network
  • Creates and promotes a brand building culture, both internally and externally, with accountability to deliver the plan
  • Manages wholesalers and holds them accountable for meeting plan results
  • Conducts business reviews on a monthly and quarterly basis that analyze volume, distribution goals, and overall results
  • Utilizes aggressive retail call frequency, as well as data from internal systems in order to identify sales opportunities as well as influence wholesaler focus
  • Ensures wholesaler execution against all chain programs and objectives
  • Negotiates, plans and manages wholesaler sales and marketing spend compared to budgets
  • Monitors wholesaler and competitive pricing activities and communicate opportunities
  • Coordinates, negotiates and attends events and sponsorships affiliated with the company’s brands including, but not limited to bartender/wait staff training, tastings, beer dinners, and festivals
  • Monitors wholesaler inventory planning and levels
  • Rides with on and off-premise distributor reps on a regular basis
  • Assists and monitors wholesaler compliance in accordance with the master distribution agreement
  • Completes necessary and required reports with timeliness and accuracy
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring that all activities are conducted with local, state and federal laws
  • Other duties as required

Position Qualifications:


  • Supplier or distribution sales experience in beer industry
  • Understanding of 3-tier system and exposure to retail account marketing and management
  • Must reside in designated territory
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight constraints and still meet all deadlines
  • Strong creative thinking skills with the ability to develop and execute innovative strategies that increase sales and market share
  • Focus on exceeding customer expectations
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to turn data into action
  • Technical beer industry capabilities (beer styles, draught, on/off-premise) preferred
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point)
  • Must reside in designated territory
  • Bachelor’s degree required/High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Valid drivers’ license
  • Wholesale license

Visual/Audible Acuity Requirements

  • Must be able to see and hear clearly
  • Must be able to see less than 20” away and a distance of more that 20 feet
  • Must have use of side vision
  • Must be able to read and distinguish small print.
