Singer/songwriter Abigail Dowd grew up under the longleaf pine trees in North Carolina and comes from a long line of musicians. She taught herself to play the guitar at age 14 and went on to study classical guitar with Danny Infantino.
In 2009, with a duffle bag and her guitar, Abigail moved to Florence, Italy, and then to Maine, where she spent five years writing songs and developing her own style. Her bluesy voice has been described as “at once strong and generous in its vulnerability.”
Her debut album Don’t Wake Me was released in January 2017.
Abigail has written and performed music for the cultural theater performance Bleeding Pines of Turpentine as well as for documentary film and shorts.
