Packaging Shift Leader – Winston-Salem, NC

Reports to: Packaging Manager
Department: Brewery

Position Summary: Packaging Shift Leader is responsible for all activities associated with bottling/canning/kegging from start-up to clean-up. Makes minor repairs and assists with periodic maintenance of packaging equipment. Responsible for monitoring quality control during operation. Oversees staff on the shift – responsible for delegating tasks to packaging techs, making sure everyone stays on task. Assists techs with any problems they man encounter on a shift. Keeps the line running!

Position Responsibilities:

  • CIP filler before and after running per SOP’s
  • Operate and make adjustments to labeler
  • Operate and make adjustments to box builder and 6 pack stuffer
  • Operate and make adjustments to code dater
  • Operate and make adjustments to bottle rejecter
  • Perform quality assurance checks
  • Bottles/Cans finished product
  • Troubleshoots bottling/canning line
  • Assembles packaging materials
  • Moves product from bottling/canning line to cooler
  • Delivers beer from brewery to warehouse as needed
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure quality control
  • Other duties as required

Position Qualifications:


  • Valid drivers’ license
  • Solid communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • Prior packaging experience
  • Forklift license

  • Working with hazardous materials when cleaning
  • Working in a loud production environment
  • Must have depth perception and be able to distinguish basic colors

Visual/Audible Acuity Requirements

  • Must be able to see and hear clearly
  • Must be able to see less than 20” away and a distance of more than 20 feet
  • Must have use of side vision
  • Must be able to read and distinguish small print
